Mrs. Elizabeth McCarty, 87, widow of Michael McCarty, died at the Blackford County Hospital Saturday evening after a three-day illness. Although born in Hartford City, she had spent most of her life in Muncie and was a member of St. Lawrence Church. For the past two years she had been living with her niece, Mrs. Roger Jordan, 1135 W. Conger St., in Hartford City.
She is survived by a son, Robert, Jacksonville, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Hilda Conner, Muncie, and Mrs. Luther Howell and Mrs. Mildred Geesin, both of Michigan; three brothers, Ervin, James and Edward Hauggins, all of Hartford City; eight grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Felix Seroczynski officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at Meeks Mortuary after 2 p.m. Monday.
