Potter, John D., 90, retired Fina Refinery pipefitter, died Tuesday, March 1, 1994. Service 10 a.m. today, Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

Survivors: wife, Verta; sons, Randy of El Dorado, Stephen of Wichita; sisters, Mable Ward, Fern Johnson, Mae Yelton, all of Butler, Mo.; two grandchildren. Hillside Funeral Home.My great great-grandfather. Second youngest son of Harry and Nancy Kerby Potter. John first married Kathryn Williams, they had two children; Donnel and Katharina. John and Kathryn later separated and John married a woman named Verta Sullivan, they had two sons; Randall and Steven Potter

Verta forbid John from seeing his daughter in Hume, but let him go to her town with Randy. When Kathy died, he went to her funeral and saw his three granddaughters from her. But after the funeral, he never saw them again.
