George E. Davies, 93, of Lafayette, passed away at St. Mary Healthcare Center at 7:08 a.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013. Born December 24, 1919 in Anapolis, IN, he was the son of the late Clemans and Orpha (Holiday) Davies.
George married Martha Zelda Milikan in 1938 and she preceded him in death in December 1977. They had three sons, Richard Davies (wife, Diann) of Appleton, WI, who passed away October 2008, Max Davies (wife Diane) and Larry Davies (wife, Barbara) both of Lafayette. George retired from Alcoa where he was a press operator. He also enjoyed working part-time selling cars for many car dealers. He is a member of First Assembly of God, where he ushered for many years.
In January of 1979 he married Mary Helen Kiger, she passed away October 2003. He had two step-sons, Jack Kiger (wife, Ann) of Brookston, who passed away in January 2009, and Bill Kiger (wife, Joan) of Bradenton, FL.
Surviving is his third wife, Vetta Gene (Hickman) Reuzenaar Davies, who he married on July 3, 2004, and one step-daughter, Cynthia Kay Kesler (husband, Wayne) of Lafayette. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. George was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and 2 grandsons.
