Born 3rd of July 1876 in Parker City, Randolph County, Indiana. He was the oldest son of ten children to Oliver Earl Shores and Eva Jane Linder both born in Indiana. He married Bessie Pearl Foust on 6 February 1907 in Henry County, Indiana. They had no children. In Coshocton County, Ohio in September 1915 Earl told his wife he was going to get a loaf of bread and never returned home.

On 1924 he married Unknown Spouse in Perth, Western Australia but must have later divorced?

He was an American labourer on Darwin Wharf who lived on Fannie Bay Beach. He worked the Pinman Turntable on the right angle of the wharf.
According to the police probate documented on 9 August 1949, Shores died intestate with no widow or known next of kin.
