Bobby Wayne Babson, 68, of Supply died Friday, September 13, 2013. Born in Columbus County on January 31, 1945, a son of Albert Erden and Delta Odessa Inman Babson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Monroe Babson, and a sister, Dorothy Kelly.

He was a decorated soldier who served his country as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam as a Chief Warrant Officer. After retirement from the army, he pursued a career in home construction as Bobby Babson & Son Builders.

Surviving are a son, Bobby Wayne Babson, Jr. of Wilmington; daughter, Jessica B. Lancaster, and her husband Eugene, of Supply; sisters, Nina Stanley, and her husband Alton, of Bolivia, Eunice Smith and Betty Campbell both of Thomasville, Shirley Cartrette of Southport and Mae Simmons of Ash; and two grandchildren, Preston Lancaster and Ryan Lancaster.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Monday, September 16, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in New Britton Baptist Church Cemetery.
