Avona K. Caron, age 71, passed away September 8, 2013. She was born in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota and had lived in Clay County over 35 years. She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church. Mrs. Caron was preceded in death by her husband Edward Noel Caron, on December 23, 2012. Survivors include 2 sons: Michael David Caron (Alesia) and Michael Paul Caron (Tracy); 4 daughters: Paula Stone (Barry), Pamela McGuire (John), Deborah Cleyman (Kirk) and Denise Ripley (Stewart), sister Nancy Haala, 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL 32073 with Pastor Dave Winter officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery Thursday at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32257.

Avona Karen Caron died Sept. 8, 2013, in Jacksonville , Fla. Funeral services were held Sept. 12, the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home in Orange Park, Fla., with Pastor Dave Winter officiating. Interment was in Jacksonville National Cemetery. Avona was born Jan. 1, 1942, in Sleepy Eye, to George and Velma (Murphy) Hansen. She graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School in 1959 and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She married Edward N. Caron on May 28, 1970 and they lived in Clay County Fla. for over 35 years. She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in Orange Park, Fla. Edward (Ted) Caron died Dec. 23, 2012. Avona is survived by her step-children, Michael David Caron (Alesia), Michael Paul Caron (Tracy), Paula Stone (Barry), Pamela McGuire (John), Deborah Cleyman (Kirk), and Denise Ripley (Stewart); and sister, Nancy Haala (Thomas); 16 step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Velma; brother, Dennis in infancy; and husband, Edward (Ted) Caron; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
