GREENFIELD – Floyd K. Agee Jr., age 78, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 at IU Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis. He was born on December 8, 1934 in Arlington, Alabama as the son of Floyd K. and Lillian (Nettles) Agee. Mr. Agee received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Auburn University in 1958. He served in the Army. He married Jo Ann on September 16, 1960 in Athens, Alabama.

He worked for the Department of Defense at Fort Harrison as an Accountant for over 30 years before retiring in 1991. Mr. Agee was a member of the Greenfield Christian Church. While there, Floyd was a Treasurer for over twenty years, Deacon, Elder and Sunday School Teacher. He was also the Treasurer for Kenneth Butler Soup Kitchen and member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Floyd enjoyed spending his time watching Auburn Football.

Surviving him are his loving wife of 53 years, Jo Ann; children, Floyd K. "Trey" (Kelly) Agee, III of Greenfield, Joan Agee Lauman of Solomons, Maryland, Sharon (Joe) Agee Rafter of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers, James Agee of Athens, Alabama, Elliot (Kay) Agee of Athens, Alabama; sisters, Elinor (Tommy) Ezell of Athens, Alabama, Caroline (Richard) Williams of Springfield, Virginia; six grandchildren, Bethany, Nathaniel, Sarah, Luke, Aaron, Evan; great-granddaughter, Rylan; and many nieces and nephews. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home in Athens, Alabama, 1200 E. Forrest St. Athens, Alabama 35612, with calling hours two hours prior to the service. Burial will take place at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens, Alabama. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenfield Christian Church, 24 North East Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140; Kenneth Butler Soup Kitchen, 202 E Main St Greenfield, IN 46140; or Road to Recovery Cancer Society, 5635 W 96th St #100 Indianapolis, IN 46278.
