Charles Frederick Seibold arrived in America August 14, 1854, he became a naturalized citizen March 14, 1861. On June 12, 1859 Charles married Malinda Mayer.
He joined the 2nd Ohio , CO.B on August 30, 1861 to fight for the new country he had just come to. On the 20 day of September 1863, Charles F. Seibold was captured at the Battle of Chickamauga, in Tennessee and was taken prisoner to Libby Prison near Richmond, Virginia.
