WILLIAMSBURG - Art Aldridge, 67, departed this life suddenly Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005. Art was a native of Chicago, Ill., and a resident of Williamsburg, Va., for four years. He was a member of St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg and the Williamsburg Country Club. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois and was an electrical engineer with IBM, retiring after 40 years of service. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy Aldridge; his sons, Michael Aldridge and David Aldridge and his wife, Holly; his daughter, Katie Rochford; and his grandchildren, Jarryd, Sarah, Jennah, Shane, Hagan and Kyle. Art was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing golf, walking his dogs and especially loved having fun with his grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with a Christian wake service starting at 7 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road. Burial will follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Support Care of Williamsburg or the Heritage Humane Society. Nelsen Funeral Home of Williamsburg is in charge of arrangements.
