Louis Walter Jones Jr., 88, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Open visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Louis was born Nov. 14, 1924, in Opelika, Ala. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Forces. He graduated from Texas Christian University with a master's degree in psychology, class of 1952. He worked for the Fort Worth ISD as a clinical child psychologist until 1990. Louis devoted his retirement years to volunteering at Cook Children's Medical Center in the hematology/oncology department as a Child Life volunteer and was chosen as Child Life Volunteer of the Year. He was an active member of Western Hills United Methodist Church. Our family wishes to send heartfelt gratitude to Louis' caregivers, Jessica, Lenore, Marlena, Janelle, Denise, Christine, Covenant Care Hospice and Arlington Heights Health and Rehab. Louis was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Juanita Jean Flow Jones; daughter, Mariann Jones Deering; and sisters, Peggy Miller and Barbara Jones. Survivors: Daughters, Judy Lynn Olson and Pamela Jean Tucker; grandchildren, Angela Smith, Billy Smith, Coke Smith, Jack Deering, Matthew Deering, Shelby Deering, Michelle Chandonnet, Derik and April Shires, and David and Amanda Shires; great-grandchildren, Trevor and Logan Shires and Michael Candonet; sisters, Mary Jo Wood and Joyce Wilson; many nieces; and his nephew, Rusty.
