She was born Nov. 18, 1937, in New Orleans, to the late Ignatius and Mildred (Eagan) Catanzaro. She married Charles J. Mumphrey on July 6, 1956, in New Orleans.
She was very active at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, where she was an adoration and office volunteer. She also was a member of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and the St. Francis Xavier Cabrini and Marian prayer groups in New Orleans. She also volunteered at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, reading, sewing and playing the piano.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her children, Charlynn (Dale) Hawkins of Lake in the Hills, Charlee Mumphrey of Greensboro, N.C., and Chalon (Michelle) Mumphrey of Le Sueur, Minn.; her grandchildren, Shane Patrick Hawkins and Faith Ann Mumphrey; her sister, Sunny Schulz of Mandeville, La.; and her nephew, William Schulz Jr. of Mandeville.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, William Schulz. The visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake, and Wednesday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Crystal Lake. Entombment will be in Lake Lawn Park, New Orleans.
