SALVO - Catherine H. Harris, 60, of Salvo, died Friday, March 21, at her residence. Mrs. Harris was a native of Rodanthe.
She was the daughter of the late Edward Burgess Hooper and Zenovah Hooper of Salvo, and the widow of the late Dale Kirkland Harris, Sr. She was a homemaker, a member of the Clarks Bethel United Methodist Church and the Outer Banks Rebecca Lodge #165.
Besides her mother, Mrs. Harris is survived by one daughter, Catherine H. Gray-Hardison of Buxton; one son, Kirk Harris of Salvo; one sister, Annette O'Neal of Salvo; one brother, Johnny B. Hooper of Salvo; 4 grandchildren, Korey and Kelsea Harris of Virginia Beach, Va., Cassie Gray and Krystal Hardison, both of Buxton.
Funeral services will be held at the Clarks Bethel United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 23 with the Revs. Ray Warren, John Carlotte, and Berry Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Hooper Family Cemetery. Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras, is in charge of these arrangements.
