TO LIVE IN HEARTS WE LEAVE BEHIND IS NOT TO DIE.∼NORFOLK - Mrs. Ella Pugh Midgette, 77, of 4213 Dunning road died Thursday [Feb. 4, 1971] at 12:30 a.m. in a hospital after a long illness.
A native of Rodanthe, N.C., she lived here 8 years. She was the widow of J. Flora Midgette and a daughter of William S. and Mrs. Elvira Pugh.
Surviving are a son, Burgess Hooper of Salvo, N.C.; four daughters, Mrs. Mary E. Midgette of Norfolk, Mrs. Pearl H. Twiford of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and Mrs. Gladys H. Gallop and Mrs. Eileen Ricks of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Ernest C. Pugh of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Pugh Austin of Salvo; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
The body is being sent from Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, to Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo, N.C., for a funeral service Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Assembly of God Church, Salvo. Burial will be in the family cemetery.
