Wesley T. Cox, 37, of Laketon, IN passed away on August 30, 2013 in Sydney, IN from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on June 15, 1976 in Goshen, IN to Barry & Candice (Singrey) Cox. Wesley resided for several years in Florida before returning to the area. He was employed by Forest River in Goshen, IN. He is survived by his son – Cyrus Cox of Marion. His daughter – Chloee Cox of Anderson. His Brother – Ryan Cox, who lives in China, Parents – Candice (Tim) Hine of North Webster, Barry Cox of Florida. Grandparents Gloria (Gene) Stoffel of Syracuse. 4 uncles & 5 aunts. He was preceded by his son Wesley T. Cox II and his daughter Grace Cox. Services will be Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the Eastlund Funeral Home with pastor Brad Cox officiating. A man and his daughter were killed early Thursday in a crash involving a vehicle and train in Kosciusko County.

Kosciusko County Sheriff's Deputies and other emergency responders were dispatched around 4:42 a.m. to investigate reports of a vehicle that had been struck by a freight train at a crossing in the town of Sidney.

Upon arrival, responders were joined by personnel from the Sidney Fire Department, and they found a 2008 Mazda that had been struck by a Norfolk Southern train at the State Road 13 crossing. The train was eastbound, and the Mazda was northbound.

The Kosciusko County coroner declared the driver of the vehicle, 37-year-old Wesley T. Cox, and his 4-year-old daughter Grace, dead at the scene from blunt-force trauma. They were from Laketon, according to the sheriff's department.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
