1st Sergeant Roger D. Carter, USA (Ret), 66, passed away on December 3, 2011 in El Paso, TX. A 22 year Army Veteran with service in Korea and Vietnam, he was awarded the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara, Business Manager of the Fort Bliss RV Park; 40 Years of service to the government of the United States of America; Avid fisherman, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Wanda Maxine Carter; his brother, Terrell H. Carter and son, Steven Doyle Carter.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 40 years; son & daughter-in-law of El Paso; son of El Paso, TX; daughter of Burleson, TX; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister in Abilene, TX; and brother in Amarillo, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans or your favorite charity.

Committal Service to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with full military honors at 1:30 pm.
