Wendell Cully was the son of Glen Dyer and Ella Margaret Brumback Cully.
He was a retired insurance agent and a farmer.
He lived in Stockton nearly all his life, except for time serving his country in the Army in Korea from 1952 to 1954. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and other medals.
He married Nancy Ann Clark July 23, 1955, and the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
He belonged to Stockton First Southern Baptist Church for 40 years. He was a Christian and lived as a Christian, and loved attending church and Sunday school. He was a member of the local VFW and Amvets, and enjoyed riding with the local saddle club. He was mayor of Stockton for several years and a long-time businessman.
He enjoyed the time he spent on his cattle farm and was happiest when with his family traveling in the mountains. He also enjoyed coon hunting with friends and his sons.
Memorial contributions were made to Stockton First Southern Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
