James "Jimmy" Allen Montgomery, of Summerville, husband of Diane Mathews Montgomery, passed away August 24, 2013.

Born on July 11, 1945 in Kingstree, SC, he was the son of the late Walter Ellison Montgomery and Edith Cooper Montgomery.

Jimmy's areas of expertise were many and varied, auto mechanic, electrician, welder, HVAC mechanic and tour operator. His later years were spent as the owner and chief cook for his catering company, "Back Porch Cookers." He built his distinctive "Back Porch" catering trailer from the ground up, modeled after his childhood home in Greeleyville, SC. He never met a challenge he did not like and many people called on Jimmy to meet theirs when they couldn't.

The only thing he loved more than his work was his family, serving their needs and spending quality time with them until his final day.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Diane, are son: Allen Montgomery of Summerville; three sisters: Anne Cloeninger, Walter Tisdale and Betty McKenzie; two brothers: Donald Montgomery and Buddy Montgomery.
