Isiah Calvin RIGGS is thought to be the fourth of seven children born to Jesse RIGGS and Melinda Unknown in February 1834 in AL. He was my paternal Great Grandfather. No documentation of his birth or death has been found. On the 1910 census Isiah is shown living in Civil District 7, Decatur, TN, age 76, born about 1834, white male, widowed, his parents born in AL. He was a timber worker, making ties. He spoke English, could not read or write, he rented a house, he was not out of work on April 15, 1910, but in 1909 he was out of work for 30 weeks.
