Carroll Denver (Sarge) Anthony Sr., 78, of the Union Hill Community, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 13th, 2013 at his home. A native of Tennessee, he has been a resident of Swain County for most of his life. He was the son of the late Emory and Elaine Bryson Anthony. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Emily Williams and Alice Leppard, and one brother Jack Anthony.

He is survived by 5 children: Carroll Anthony (Bo) Jr. of Whittier, James Anthony of Jasper, AL, Cindy Erwin and husband Rick of Ballground, GA, Tony Anthony and wife Amy of Newport, TN, and Clara (Crickett) Anthony of Whittier; 8 grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and three brothers, Larry Anthony of Bryson City, Ernest Anthony of Bryson City, and Glen Anthony of Idaho.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Randall Watkins and Danny Lambert will officiate with burial in the Lauada Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home.
