Ida Eileen (Miller) Keehr was born December 25,1920 in Clearwater, MN to the late Morris and Ida (Granzow) Miller. She was united in marriage to William J. Keehr on April 8, 1947, at Assembly of God, Clearwater, MN. She changed her name to Eileen M. Keehr when she married. The couple lived in San Jose, CA, until they returned to MN in 1950 where they farmed in the Buckman area and later near Freedhem, MN. Eileen worked as a registered nurse in the nursery at St Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN for twenty years. The couple lived in Wheaton, MN, and Cannon Falls, MN, before retiring in the Brainerd area.
Eileen was a faithful member and attendee of the Assembly of God wherever she lived and taught Sunday School, Summer Vacation Bible School, served on Women's Missionary, and made quilts for missionaries and disaster victims. In addition to enjoying being a nurse, Eileen enjoyed gardening, quilting, crafts, table games and her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lynn Alvar of Little Falls, MN; William B. (Gayle) Keehr of Baxter, MN; Rev. Paul (Peggy) Keehr of Glenn Falls, NY; and Esther (Rev. Loren) Axmark of Springfield, MO; siblings, Dennis (Marcella) Miller, San Jose, CA; Melda (Rev. Merwin) Miller, Janesville, MN; Louise (Robert) Crawford, Apple Valley, MN; Alden Miller, Minneapolis, MN; Roger (Barbara) Miller, Hopkins, MN; David (Lucille) Miller, Clearwater, MN; 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Loren Miller; sister and brother-in law, Dorothy (Rev. Lester) Peterson; infant grandson, Luke Alvar; and sister-in-law, Isabelle Miller. Pallbearers will be Seth Alvar, Ethan Alvar, Aaron Keehr, Timothy Keehr, Peter Thompson and Gregg Verspoor.
