GIRARD - Stephen J. Bator Sr., 87, of Girard, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
He was born June 25, 1922, in Kluknava, Slovakia, a son of Stephen and Anna Halko Bator.
He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.
He had worked for Republic Steel and was a member of St. Rose Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Denmeade Bator, and a brother, Frank Bator of Poland.
He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen J. Bator Jr., and five sisters.
Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Monday at the McClurkin Funeral Home, where friends may call an hour prior to services.
Burial will be at Green Haven Memorial Garden in Canfield.
