Florence Marie Svejkovsky, 87, of Evansville, formerly of Cloquet, died Friday, June 18, 2004, at Crestview Manor, Evansville.
She was born Aug. 6, 1916, to Henry and Amelia (Jacob) Dreyer in Lotts Creek, Iowa, where she grew up. She later moved to Blue Earth, then to Austin. On Aug. 28, 1937, she married Clarence Svejkovsky in Austin. Florence worked at Hormel. She and Clarence later moved to California, where Florence worked for Caterpillar. In 1946, the couple moved to Sturgeon Lake, where Florence was a homemaker. They moved to Big Lake near Cloquet in 1968. Florence later became a resident at Nopeming prior to moving to Crestview Manor in Evansville.
Survivors include sisters, Lois (George) Pickett, Waukon, Iowa; Rosie Lewis, Austin; brother, Henry (Marion) Dreyer, Albuquerque, N.M.; two grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Roger (Betty) Svejkovsky, Austin; A.J. (Rosella) Svejkovsky, Paynesville; sister-in-law, Lucille Moore, Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; son, Ronald; three sisters and two brothers.
Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Monday, July 5, 2004, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Austin, with Pastor Kris Wee officiating.
Inurnment: Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.
Funeral Home: Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
