Joseph Wilton Bass, 70, of Wilson passed away Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Friday at Joyner's Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Gene Wells will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday immediately following the service at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at 4337 Georgetown Drive, Wilson.
Wilton is survived by his wife, Pam L. Bass of the home; his daughter Tracy Bass Shumack and husband, Brian of Wilson; his grandchildren, Meagan Shumack, Brooke Shumack, Brylee Shumack and Brandon Shumack; his step-daughters, Debby Futrell and husband, Jeff of Wilson and Charlotte Kinney and husband, Ben of Charlotte; his step-grandchildren; Pearson Futrell, Emilee Futrell, Jackson Kinney and Reid Kinney; his sister, Susie Barnes of Wilson; his brothers, Derl Bass of Wilson, Ronnie Bass of Stantonsburg and Roland Bass of Wilson and Molly, his dog, the love of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorise B and Selma Bowden Bass, his first wife, Carolyn Reynolds Bass; his sisters, Pearl Saunders and Helen Edwards and his brothers, Clay, Milton and Bill Bass.
