She began her basic training in 1965 and served as a Psychiatric Nurse and an instructor of nursing for over 20 years. During her military career, Jackie was stationed in Germany, Hawaii, Washington and many other areas. After her retirement, she moved to Florida where she sold real estate for some time before moving to San Antonio. Jackie was very proud of her military service. She made many lifelong friends during her military career and continued those friendships while residing at the Army Residence Community. Jackie was well known for her compassion and love of animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert M. Coggin, Jr. and James C. Coggin. LTC Coggin is survived by sister-in-law's Carol Coggin, Frances Coggin Cooper and many nieces and nephews.
