John was called Jack by his family and friends. He is the son of Clair Edward Stone and Frances Arlene Stone Wells of Niagara Falls, New York.

Siblings: Daniel Leon; Clair E; Romona; Timothy B1945-D2013 and Roger living.

Jack grew up with his siblings Garry and Timmy on Military Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls, New York. Jack’s biological father is Mike Orr.

Jack worked at the Loblaw’s grocery chain.

Jack married Barbara Borowicz of Niagara Falls, New York on June 13, 1959 and together they raised their children: Dawn, Melissa, Scott and Amber in Niagara Falls, New York.

Jack got a job delivering Dolly Madison cakes and desserts to grocery stores. Jack and Barb also operated a ‘Mom and Pop’ grocery store on 77th Street in Niagara Falls, New York. They were very good at it, but the State of New York took the land the store was on for the building of the Robert Moses Expressway. Jack’s big break came when he was hired by the General Motors Corporation, Harrison Radiator Division working on the production line. He was eventually promoted to working on the specialty production lines where quality control was very strict.

Jack was very devoted to his family. He was Eucharistic Minister of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, a member of the Sacred Heart Home School Association, leader of Boy Scout Troop 812, Treasurer of the Rainbow International Computer Club and a member of the Niagara Falls Auxiliary Police.

Jack came home from work early at Harrison Radiator because he was not feeling well. Jack died of a heart attack at the age of 52 at his home while talking to his doctor on the telephone. He was pronounced dead at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital.

Jack was very well liked. You were always welcome at his home. There seemed to be a fresh pot of coffee on the stove waiting for some conversation. Jack had a way of telling a story of some event that happened to him or his family that made you smile or laugh out loud.

Jack loved playing the organ, doing projects on his computer, doing needlepoint work which was absolutely beautiful, sitting around his dining room table drinking coffee and talking to his friends and family, participating in church and school functions with his family. Jack also baked and sold gorgeous wedding cakes that his wife, Barb decorated. Jack loved decorating the tree for Christmas. He started the day after Thanksgiving before it was popular to put your tree up early. This was when artificial trees first were on the market. The tree he had revolved. Every ornament had to be placed in the right spot and spaced evenly. Sometimes he would take the tree all apart and start over if he did not like it. The tree had to be absolutely perfect. It was beautiful when he was finished decorating.

Jack is sadly missed by his family and friends.

Jack is the Grandfather of Jessica Stone who is buried in the plot next to him.

Rest in Peace.
