NILES - Shirley T. Creech, 76, passed away early Saturday Aug. 10, 2013 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.

Shirley was born March 7, 1937 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, a daughter of Bill and Clydia Vesta Sparks, and moved to this area as a child.

She attended school in Kentucky and dedicated her life to caring for her family and raising her children.

Shirley enjoyed bingo, karaoke, and partying with family and friends. She enjoyed listening to music, especially "Cole Miners Daughter," "Go Rest High on the Mountain," and "Calling All Angels."

Shirley leaves five daughters, Kathy Jones-Shane of Florida, Karen Harrington of Niles, Sharon Creech of Niles, Crystal Creech of Niles, Rhonda Paulik of Niles, three sons, John Wayne Creech of Niles, Shawn Creech of Niles, and Mark Creech of Niles; two brothers, Willie Sparks of McDonald and Lamar Sparks of Niles; three sisters, Stella Patton of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Audrey Goodman of Berlin Center, and Virginia Burton of Olive Hill; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Ellwood Creech, whom she married on Dec. 10, 1957, and who passed away on Dec. 8, 1992, and by an infant daughter, Tamela Creech.

Interment will follow at Kerr Cemetery in Weathersfield Township.
