Bobby L. Hensley Aug. 23, 1932 - Oct. 2, 2003
Bobby Lewis Hensley, 71, of Spencer, formerly of Crossville, passed away Oct. 2, 2003 at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, TN after an extended illness. He was born in Sequatchie County, TN on Aug. 23, 1932, the son of Raymond and Gladys (Sparks) Hensley.
He was a long distance truck driver for 39 years, having logged several million miles during his career with no accountable accidents.
He was affectionately called "Pop" by his children and many others who "adopted" him. He was a very loving father and grandfather. He was a member of the Mooneyham Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Mae Hensley.
He is survived by his wife Pauline Hensley; son, Darryl Hensley of Quebec; daughters, Valerie Wood of Crossville and Holly Hensley of Cookeville; brother, Hershel Hensley of Crossville; sister, Connie Bickford of Spencer; grandchildren, Matthew, Joseph, Ethan and Kristy; great-grandchildren, Lorryn and Aleysah; seven stepdaughters, three stepsons; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted at Mooneyham Church of God with Bro. Wayne Sullivan, Bro. J.T. Davis and Bro. Doug Cunningham officiating. Burial was at Graveyard Ridge Cemetery in Van Buren County.
Pallbearers were Joe Tucker, Steve Hensley, Jeff Hensley, Travis Worley, Robert Thompson Jr. and Joe Scott.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Red Cross.
