Richard D. Peiffer
Richard D. Peiffer, 62 of 434 Manchester Drive, died unexpectedly at 4:50 a. m. Friday in Memorial Hospital. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in November 1982. He was born on March 2, 1921, in Mishawaka and was a lifetime area resident. On June 26, 1948, in South Bend, he married Josephine Jambrick. She survives with two daughtes, Mrs. Pamela Poe of South Bend and Miss Patrick Peiffer, Louisville, Colo.; a son, Michael of Arlington, Texas; two grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Charles Irish of Mishawaka.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, Rev. Robert A. Yast, pastor, will officate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Weisheimmer Funeral Home, 521 N. William, where wake prayers will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday. Peiffer was an Army veteran of World War II.
