Edith Pauline Vaughan, 95, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 at Lonesome Pine Hospital, Big Stone Gap. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Albert Vaughan; children, Kenny Vaughan and Lavana Vaughn Hurd; and her parents, James and Elva Bishop. She is survived by three sons, Verlen Vaughan, of Duffield, Rudy Vaughan, of Duffield, and Shannon Vaughan, of Big Stone Gap; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 noon on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at the Roy A. Green Funeral Home, Appalachia, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon in the chapel with James Runyon officiating. Following the service, burial will take place at the Bishop Cemetery, Jasper, VA. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
