Tennyson was the great-grandson of Lord Tennyson and at the outbreak of the war, was the youngest film director in England. He had worked on MGM's films "A Yank at Oxford" and "The Citidel." Tennyson was married to actress Nova Pilbeam at the time of his death in a flying accident.
