Graveside services for Charles Alston, 75, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at Roselawn Memorial Park in Mineola with Mr. James Miller officiating.

He passed away Saturday evening, February 3, 2007, at Crestwood Nursing Home in Wills Point.

Charles was born March 17, 1931, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Charlsey D. Alston and Anna Lee Newman Alston. He graduated from Garland High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Charles was employed by the Dallas Fire Department, retiring after many years of service. He later owned and operated Longhorn Paint Contracting in Dallas. In 1991, Charles moved to Mineola and in 1997, his first wife, Bernice Faye Alston passed away. Later, on October 30, 1999, Charles married Faye Arnold Austin. He had lived in Wills Point for eleven years.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Bernice Faye Alston; sister, Anna Jean Darby in July 2006 and a step-son, Denny Austin in October 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Alston, of Wills Point; son, Norman Alston & wife, Jean, of Dallas; daughter, Kathy Alston Miller & husband, James, of Garland; step-son, Lonnie Austin & wife, Amy, of Wills Point; step-daughter, Connie Monk & husband, Jim, of Dallas; brother, Paul Ray Alston & wife, Joyce, of Rowlett; six grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Jake Starr, Charles Norman Alston, II, Robert Miller and Terry Darby.

Honorary Pallbearers: Active and retired co-workers with the Dallas Fire Department, Lyle Tucker, Dick Williams and Steve Dobson.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m till 1:00 p.m.
