Mr. Jeffery "Sleepy" Wayne Varner, 52, a resident of 2473 Wright Rd., passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. He was born on July 11, 1961 in Davidson County to James "Scooter" Daniels and Mary Varner Lambeth. He was self employed as a carpenter and attended Community Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, and a daughter, Misty Dawn Varner. Surviving is his mother, Mary Varner Lambeth of Lexington; one daughter, Christy Varner Steffey and husband Lance of Thomasville; one son, Jeffery Wayne Varner, Jr. of Lexington; one sister, Sissy Amstutz and husband Greg of Lexington; one brother, Scoot Lambeth of Lexington; and three grandchildren, Mackenzie, Andrew and Hailey Steffey. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Community Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Brian Workman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m and at other times at the home of the mother, 12017 East Old Hwy 64 Lexington, NC 27292.
