A graduate of Reed-Custer High School, Kay was dedicated to her work as the bookkeeper for Peter J. Rossi and Sons in Braidwood, until its closing. Thereafter she enjoyed working at Personal Finance in Wilmington, and then the Sullivan and Jessen Insurance Agencies in Braidwood.
She is survived by her loving sister, Anne, of Braidwood; her sister-in-law, Josephine Sullivan of Westmont, formerly of Braidwood; her nieces, Judy Stiegelmeyer and Mary Kay (Ron) Keller of Indianapolis, and Rita (Kevin) Carlson of Downers Grove; her nephews, Neil (Barbara) Stiegelmeyer of Union, KY, Jim (Teresa) Stiegelmeyer of Indianapolis, and Dan (Cindy) Sullivan of Downers Grove; 15 great-nieces and great-nephews; one great-great-niece and one great-great nephew.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mary and Margaret; and her brothers, Neil and Edwin.
Her loving smile and gentle spirit will be missed, but always with us. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood, Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 10:00 with Rev. Danilo Soriano officiating. Visitation will be at the R. W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd, Braidwood Chapel, Wednesday, January 28 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery in Braidwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Immaculate Conception Church, Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, or the charity of one's choice.
