Mrs. Katie W. Calloway departed this life on October 11, 2011 at her residence. She was born on August 14, 1940 to the late Earl and Virgie Williams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Shirley W. Anderson. Katie is survived by her husband Malcolm R. Calloway; four sons, Gary of Forest, Chris (Felicia) of Lynchburg, Randy (Ernestine) of Forest and Malcolm of Forest; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Marie Rucker (George); one brother, Leroy Williams both of Lynchburg; two sister-in-laws, Virginia Johnson and Olivia Williams both of Lynchburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1pm, Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Altha Grove Baptist Church, 7376 Cottontown Rd., Forest, VA 24551 with Rev. Thomas Harper, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Her remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family is receiving friends from 7-8:30pm, Friday, October 14, 2011 at Community Funeral Home and other times at 1278 Walker's Crossing Drive, Forest.
