James Edward Buckman was the son of William and Mary Malinda (Shercliffe) Buckman. He was the twin brother of John Raymond Buckman, 1843-1914.

James Edward Buckman was baptized at St. Charles Church, St. Mary, Marion County, Kentucky.

Edward married Mary F. Hoagland at Holy Name Of Mary Church, Calvary, Marion County, Kentucky. This couple were the parents of at least: Arthur Buckman, 1876-19xx; Minnie E. Buckman, 1878-xxxx; and Lilly May Buckman, 1883-xxxx.

Edward's burial entry #15 in the Our Lady of the Hills Death Register #1, says he died of tuberculosis and was buried Oct. 12, 1914.

His death certificate #26674 says he died in Voting Precinct #7 in Marion County, Kentucky at 9:40 p.m. of tuberculosis, which he had had for 20 years. His physician was Dr. John T. Boldrick of Lebanon, KY. The informant, Walter Buckman of Lebanon, Kentucky said that James Edward was aged 71 years, three months, and 13 days and was a married farmer. C. U. Bosley the Lebanon, Kentucky undertaker was in charge of the arrangements for his burial here on Oct. 12, 1914.
