John Lewis Christensen was born April 1, 1883 at Saint Ansgar, Iowa to Andrew and Maria (Wilson) Christensen. He was the 5th son of a family of 9 boys and 2 girls. The family moved to the old Christensen homestead, west of Turton, in 1884.
In 1910 John bought the farm where he lived the remainder of his life.
John and Elsie Teske were married in 1915, he is survived by his wife and thier six children--Harold (Chicago) Dorothy Kettering (Brentford) Dick (Bottineau, N.D.) Frank (Turton) Lois Trapp (Verdon) and Jack (Aberdeen), his brother Will (Grand Junction, Colorado) and George (Toronto, Canada), his sister Ida White (Frankfort) and 13 grandchildren.
