A celebration of his life will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 at McReynolds Nave & Larson Chapel with the Revs. Louie Montoya and Mark Daniels officiating. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until the time of service Friday. Burial in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, Kentucky at a later date.
Shep was born September 16, 1938 in Uvalda, Georgia, son of the late, James Evan and Jewell Mumford Shepherd. He was retired from the US Army, he attended First Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed spending time at Kelly's Big Burger talking religion and politics. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife, Rachelle Wiebe Sheppard; son, Scott Sheppard of Cincinnati, Ohio,; daughters, Pamela Sheppard of Clarksville and Tracy (Dirk) Greenwood of Ft. Hood, TX; brother, Mickey (Shirley) Shepherd of King, NC; sister, Betty Hurlburt of Leesburg, FL; two grandchildren, Faith and Evan Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Nashville Rescue Mission or Manna Cafe.
