Howard Grover Ward, 65, of North Turkey Creek, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013.A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late James Britt and Gladys Davis Ward. He was also preceded in death by his sister Helen Dills, and brother, J.D. Ward.Mr. Ward is survived by loving wife son . Howard retired from UPS after 30 years service and was a veteran of 28 years with the U.S. Army Reserve retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. He was also a member of Beulah Baptist Church.Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue with the Revs. Ricky Wolfe and Norris Wright officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
