11. Joseph Tinkle - 17 Sep 1875 - 8 Apr 1877, burial unknown
Tinkle family lore is that John Walton Tinkle was adopted by the Tinkles before they immigrated to Texas. (There are many doubtful questions about this assertion.) (His "adopted" mother Sarah "Sally" Browning Tinkle is also buried in Cryer Creek) The repeated story is, "He came in off the prairie" as a small child. Another piece of family lore is that he lost most of his left arm in a farming accident.
He was apparently born in Limestone County, Alabama and married Jane Davis 30 June 1850 in Saline County, Arkansas. (Married by Rev. John Y. Sidsey.) Jane's father Nathan Davis, Jr. is also buried in Cryer Creek.
The burial places of the three children who died in childhood are not known for William, Susy or Joseph.
