MCLEAN — Donnie G. Lanier, 49, of McLean died Friday, July 12, 2013.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Gabe Rivas, deacon, officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon.
Donnie was born March 26, 1964, in Amarillo to Donnie and Bettye Gamble Lanier. He graduated from Canyon High School. He was a painter for 30 years, starting out with new homes in Amarillo. He and his wife, Linda Hegwood, moved to Canadian, where they continued painting residential homes. They then moved their painting business to McLean. He enjoyed fishing and camping in Black Kettle National Grasslands in Oklahoma with Linda and his dog, Minnow. He also was an artist.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bettye Hurst.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Hegwood of McLean; his father, Donnie H. Lanier of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Robert Lanier of Amarillo; a half-sister, Doree Funk of Amarillo; and special loved ones, Sherrie Ontiverous and sons, Alijah and Isaiah, of Lubbock.
The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
