Jay Willard Briggs, 43, of Provo died Thursday at 12:20 [12:15] a.m. enroute from a Salt Lake boarding house to a Salt Lake hospital, of causes not yet determined [probably due to coronary occlusion associated with diabetic coma, according to death certificate]. Mr. Briggs had been ill several years. He had worked in Nevada and Provo before coming to Salt Lake City recently. He was born March 6, 1900, in Montana.


Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lovina Briggs of Provo; his mother, Mrs. Lillian Gill of Los Angeles; three brothers: Lester Briggs and Leon Briggs of California and George Briggs of [illegible], Arizona; two sisters: Mrs. Lucille McKinney of Ogden and Mrs. Florence Stevenson of California, and several children of a former marriage.
