Ida M. Langholff, 100, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, June 12, 2005, at Wellington Meadows in Fort Atkinson. Ida was born on Aug. 21, 1904, in Schweitzer, Ky., the daughter of William L. and Elizabeth (Mack) Zastrow. Ida attended schools in Franklin, Ky., and
Bartlett, Kan., moving to Cambridge when the family purchased a farm near there in 1921. On June 4, 1927, Ida married Clarence A. ³Cal² Langholff, at the home of her parents in Cambridge, by the Rev. Palmer Jahnke of St. Paul¹s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson.
Prior to her marriage, Ida worked in Milwaukee and Evanston, Ill. After her marriage, she worked at the Whitewater Raincoat Factory during World War II and then worked for W.D. Hoard & Sons Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1970. Ida was a member of St. Paul¹s Evangelical Luther an Church, and its Ladies Aid and Bible class. She also was a charter member of the local chapter of American Association of etired Persons and was instrumental, with her husband, in helping to start the local chapter. She also served on its executive board for several
years. Ida was a former member of the Lakeside Luther an High School Auxiliary. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Fort Atkinson Historical Society. She was a member of the Fort Atkinson Hospital Auxiliary for many years and in past years, served as a volunteer at the Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown and Countryside Home in Jefferson. Surviving are her husband, Clarence A. ³Cal² Langholff of Fort Atkinson; a daughter, Norma J. Mumm of Farmington Hills, Mich.; a son, Kenneth L. (Emily) Langholff of Fort Atkinson; four grand chil dren, Tom (Linda) Mumm of Walled Lake, Mich., Brenda (Andy) Ruzzin of Farmington Hills, Mich., Faith Schutters of Tecumseth, Mo., and Bruce (Laura) Langholff of Watertown; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Ida was the oldest of nine children in her family and surviving are her two sisters, Helen Armstrong of Watertown and Irma Hartman, Muncie, Ind.; and two brothers, Paul Zastrow, Cambridge, and Harold (Ger ry) Zastrow of Fort Atkinson. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17, at 11 a.m. St. Paul¹s
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, with the Rev. Michael Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Fort
Atkin son. Friends may call from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thurs day at the Nitardy Funeral Home in Fort Atkinson and after 10 a.m. on Friday at church until the services.
