KING Mrs. Doris Ann "Dot" Benton Key, 80, went home to be with her Lord and was eternally healed July 12, 2013. She was born May 10, 1933 in Yadkin County to Clent and Irene Denny Benton. Dot was retired from Hanes Brands. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; C.L. Benton and David Benton, two sisters; Betty Jo Scott and Carol Moore. Survivors include her husband, C. Arno Key, two daughters; Kelly Craine and husband John, Donna Hill and husband Allan, four grandchildren; Lindsay Kiser and husband Ross, Adam Tilley and wife Jordan, Amanda Tilley, Ashley Roberts and husband Matt, one step grandson; Matthew Craine and wife Lyndsay, three great grandchildren; Riley Keen, Luke Tilley, and Carson Kiser, one step great grandson; Eli Craine, three sisters; Frances Deveaux and husband Denis, June Smith and husband Ted, Rita Manuel and husband Ron, two brothers; Ray Benton , Ira Benton and wife Sheila, several special nieces and nephews. Dot is also survived by a very special caregiver, Crystal Hughes. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday July 15, 2013 with Rev. Carl Goodman and Rev. Randy Storz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to: Mount Olive Baptist Church Building Fund, 5413 NC Highway 66 South, King NC 27021 or to Alzheimers Association Western Carolina Chapter, 1315 Ashleybrook Lane , Winston Salem, NC 27103.
