Mrs. Mildred (Milly) Handley Meese, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2011, in Mercy Villa, Springfield, surrounded by her loving family. Milly was born November 1, 1927, in Kirksville, the daughter of David and Opal Sizemore. She was preceded in death by: the father of her children, Bill; her loving husband, Donald Meese; her parents; and two brothers, Marvin and James Sizemore.
Milly worked hard all of her life. Beginning at an early age, she helped to raise her brothers and sisters during the Great Depression. She married Bill Handley on August 20, 1945, and to this union three daughters were born. Milly was an active member of the Brookline Baptist Church, until her health no longer allowed her to attend.

She is survived by: her daughters and their spouses, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters.
