Adelia J. Adams, 76, of Rockton, Ill., formerly of Dubuque, died after a brief illness, at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at McCorkle Funeral Home, Rockton, with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Davis, of Rockton United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Owen Center Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Adams worked at Waldsmith Illustrators for several years.

She was born on May 14, 1922, in Oelwein, Iowa, daughter of Frank and Millie (Bradfield) Atkinson. She married Charles E. "Smokey" Adams on Jan. 19, 1941, in Dubuque.
She lived in Rockton for 23 years, moving from Rockford, Ill.

She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, of Loves Park, Ill. She attended and graduated from schools in Dubuque.

Surviving are two sons, Dale (Vickie) Adams and Buzz Adams, both of Rockton; three daughters, Dar (Mike) Moffett, of Salem, Iowa, Donna (Joe) Kowalewski, of Rockford, and Charlene Fensterman, of Rockton; lifelong friend, Jean Rux; and 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and two sisters.
