LIME SPRINGS - A Celebration of Life for Paul H. Lidtke of Lime Springs, Iowa will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lime Springs with Pastor Maureen Hagen officiating.

Paul, 82, died Wednesday morning, June 26, 2013.

Paul H. Lidtke was born Oct. 24, 1930, at home in Lime Springs, the son of Herman and Ruth Lidtke. He attended the Lime Springs School and graduated in 1951.

He married Donna Stevenson and started their life together farming southwest of Davis Corners where they lived happily for 52 years.

Paul loved sports and attended Riceville football games through the years. He was a 4-H leader, township trustee and volunteer at the church and in town. He loved taking the grandkids fishing. He was always ready for a game of cards. Paul enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

After retirement Paul and Donna moved to Lime Springs and wintered in Texas. In Texas he volunteered at school, the hospital and the park they made home.

Paul is survived by his wife, Donna; children: Nancy (Ken) Everman of Postville, Roberta (Rick) Hass of McGregor, Brian (Sheryl) Lidtke of Lime Springs, and JoEllen (Tracey) Franke of Hanover, Minn.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister; and two brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and one brother.
