William Junior "Bill" Hoggard, Sr., 74, of Lafayette, died at 4:50 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born Dec. 26, 1931, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hoggard in Templeton, he had previously resided in Clarks Hill. He married Alice Kay Smith on Sept. 21, 1958, in Oxford, and she survives.
Mr. Hoggard was a night checker in the security office at Purdue University for 17 years, retiring in 1996. He was of the Methodist faith and was a life member of Eagles Lodge 347. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Lafayette and enjoyed Purdue University sports, painting by numbers, making doilies and collecting superheros, especially Spiderman.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Guy Dennis Hoggard (companion: Toni Yeoman) of Lafayette, William J. Hoggard Jr. (wife: Pam) of Lafayette and Charles E. "Chuck" Hoggard (wife: Angie) of Clarks Hill. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
