Charles Abugelis, 81, of 161 N. Railroad Ave., Frackville, died Friday evening at Frankford Bucks Hospital, Langhorne, where he had been a patient since Aug. 6.
Born in Frackville, he was the son of the late Charles and Catherine (Lacavage) Abugelis, and a lifelong Frackville resident.
He was a 1938 graduate of the former Frackville High School and an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre of Operations. Mr. Abugelis was the recipient of three major Bronze Battle Stars.
He was last employed at Atena Steel Co., Schuylkill Haven, for many years, prior to his retirement.
He was a member of Annunciation Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Frackville; a life-member of Goodwill Hose Company No. 1, Frackville; and a member and past commander of Frackville American Legion Post 398. He was currently a member, secretary and treasurer of the South End Field and Stream Association, Frackville, a post he maintained for many years.
Mr. Abugelis was active in the Boy Scouts ofFrackville.
Surviving are a brother, Alphonse Abugelis, Levittown; a sister, Helen K. Morgan, Philadelphia and various nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Annunciation BVM Church, 7 S. Broad Mountain Ave., Frackville, with the Rev. William J. Maslar officiating.
Interment will take place in Our Lady of Siluva Cemetery, Frackville.
Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
There will be no calling hours on Tuesday evening.
Donations to the South End Field and Stream Association, 1 Whipporwill Lane, Frackville, Pa. 17931, would be appreciated.
