Ernie was a life-long resident of arlington County and a Life Member and the Past Chief of the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department, a postition which he held with distinction for many years. Ernie had retired from the Arlington County Sheriff's Department and took his talents first to the US Department of State and then to Interpol, from which he finally retired from active employment completely.
Ernie had a life long passion for music and had a local professional band that brought the enjoyment of their music to many throughout the area. Always fun to be around and usually 'the life of the party', Ernie hosted a number of well attended, unforgettable, parties for his local law enforcement friends and colleagues. His knowing glance and sly grin peeking out from under his trademark, jet black, handlebar mustache whenever he saw a friend come into view will forever be missed.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 2pm at the Kena Temple, 9001 Arlington Boulevard, Fairfax, Virginia 22031, with ceremonies by the American Legion, the Masons and the Elks. Family visitation to follow.
