Charles Glenwood Watkins, Jr., 76, of Ash, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at his home.

Born on September 26, 1936, in Miami, FL, a son of the late Charles G. Watkins, Sr. and Beulah Borden Watkins.

He was retired from U.S. Air Force with 22 years of service and as a dispatcher for ATMC.

Mr. Watkins was also a member of Soldier Bay Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and active in the Brotherhood Ministry.

Surviving are his wife, of 55 years, Bonnie Ward Watkins; son, Phillip Watkins, and wife, Shelia, of Ash; two daughters, Pam Dew, and husband, Chris, and Myra Elkins, and husband, Rodney; sister, Doreen Weatherbee, of VA; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Soldier Bay Baptist Church by the Rev. Charlie Smith.

Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Ash with military honors.
